The newest addition to the Flowcell series of instrumentation from Occhio, this versatile instrument integrates the best features of its predecessors with an innovative peristaltic pump allowing for a large range of particle sizes adapting to a multitude of applications.

 

Instrument Overview

Specially developed for liquid applications, this instrument uses the robust Flowcell technology seen in other Occhio instruments; however, it has been optimized for this application to accept a direct fit funnel at the Flowcell entrance, further reducing consumable parts and increasing the ease of cleaning. Along with the addition of a direct-connect funnel, this instrument also includes a precisely controlled stirring motor for improved homogeneity in the sample dispersion.

Standard equipped with a high-resolution 12 Megapixel camera, this instrument boasts a broad particle size range between 1µm and 3000µm providing unrivaled image clarity and depth of focus for the most precise measurements

 

Optional Ultra-High-Resolution 18 Megapixel camera

For customers who require the absolute best in precision and image quality, this upgraded camera is capable of an incredible size range between 0.2 µm and 1000µm allowing the users to analyze even the finest of samples while simultaneously increasing image quality for larger particles.

 

Samples can be dispersed in a variety of mediums including, but not limited to: Water, Alcohols, Oil, PEG, and low concentration acids. The cell spacer thickness can be easily changed between 0.5, 1, 2, and 3mm to accept a large gamme of particle sizes and liquid viscosities.

Related Software

This instrument uses Callisto 3D™, the fast and robust software created by Occhio’s multidisciplinary team of engineers and unique to Occhio. This software utilizes powerful algorithms to interpret the images supplied and quickly calculate the specified parameters while creating a 3D model for each particle.

In addition to a 3D model, every particle is saved in a database and can be analyzed individually once the analysis is completed. These databased are stored in Occhio file formats which can be recalled at any time in the future for reanalysis or comparison with current samples.
