The Zephyr LDA is the Occhio solution to replace laser diffraction particle size analyzers. Working principle is similar to laser instrumentation where the sensors are replaced with an unltra high speed shutter camera. As you know image analysis is a direct measurement method, dimensions of each particle are more accurate and supply you with a better understanding of your sample. A simple example illustrating the inadequacy of a laser method can be found in the measurement of fibers. With image analysis you can qualify a fiber by measuring length or thickness, size distribution, which is not possible with laser method, the only parameter available is the equivalent sphere. For fiber sample, this information is not useful and the obtained size distribution is far from the real size. Zephyr LDA is very simple to use, fast and reliable. This instrument is a manifestation of the ideal solution for process and quality control measurements. A key point for this instrument is that it can be easily used in coordination with sieve size and laser methods;Therefore, switching from sieve or laser to image analysis is easy and we guarantee the continuity of accurate results.

Data and images of every single particle are stored in an Occhio binary database. The instrument is driven by Callisto software, which controls the entire analysis: ‘SOP’, statistic, reporting and data storages.
